<p>The heart of any motorcycle is its powerplant … the way it looks, feels, performs. There is no compromise in the R 1200 C. The famed Boxer twin engine is BMW’s most defining trademark, and the R 1200 C has BMW’s biggest Boxer.</p><p>Specially tuned for real road conditions, its combination of electronic engine management, fuel injection and sheer brute force pumps out a broad reservoir of torque that can be tapped at any speed with a simple flick of the wrist. And its wide-ratio gearbox gives you “right now” bursts of power off the line, yet an easy, overdrive highway ride.</p><p>The view from behind the handlebars reveals another array of fine detail: a gloss of clear-coat paint, hand pinstriping* on the fuel tank and sculpted brightwork on the console, speedometer, fuel filler and turn signals. The turn signals are even self-canceling.</p><p>Chrome. Leather. Nice. High-quality brightwork is part of the package.* Exhaust pipes and mufflers are chromed stainless steel. Valve covers are brightly chromed. Leather on the seat and the handgrips feels great. The cons are few but should be stated: there are some pock marks in the clear coat on the fork legs (similar to what you would see on most Harleys); there is also a little pitting on the auxiliary light mounting brackets; the gas tank paint has a few blisters on the topside. MUCH less than typical wear for a bike of this age and mileage, and you have to lean in quite close to see any of it. In fact, from two or three paces back you’d say this bike was absolutely museum-worthy. But do you want to put it in a museum? Hell, NO! You want to RIDE it!</p><p>And since you’re going to ride it, you’ll be glad to know that this machine is in impeccable mechanical condition. It has been checked top-to-bottom, every component and function tested to assure optimum safety, performance and reliability. It has NEW TIRES front & rear, new stainless steel brake lines, a NEW BATTERY, it got a complete fuel system treatment including new fuel pump and lines. Bi-Annual Service which means fresh engine oil and filter, new brake fluid, and all running specs checked and adjusted as necessary. The bike comes with, original owner’s book, workshop manual and factory tool kit and factory center stand for servicing. The BMW touring shield is currently mounted but also included is the tinted bubble shield. Flashing LED brake lights also installed.
