<p>This is a 1994 BMW R100GSPD one of the last years for a carburated engine. With a DMC sidecar that was mounted in 2016. The Side car was over $14,000 with elecric trim, heated seat (happy wife, happy life), covers, USB outlet, standard BMW power outlets, fog lights, enclosed passenger cover, rear luggage rack. The bike is worth in excess of $9,000 by itself, with tank bag, panniers, and over $1,000 of spare parts from break shoe pads, left and right carburator, throttle cable, break cable, clutch cable, spare front and rear tires.</p><p><br></p><p>In no rush to sell the bike as it is the perfect bike for myself, wife, and dog. But alas life happens and a recent heart attack has caused me to not ride as much as I would like to, so best to someone else enjoy the adventure.</p><p><br></p><p>Cash, cashier check, wire transfer. But any way you do it, my bank will have to clear the deposit before the bike goes any where. More to follow on payment method once we are in communication and I confirm with my bank the most secure means of accepting payment.</p><p><br></p><p>BIke is located in Mid-Coast Maine, we can communicate through Cycle Trader until we both feel the deal might happen. You would have to be more mechanically inclined than I am.</p><p><br></p><p>3 current issues that should be noted.</p><p><br></p><p>1. Bike does not always go into Neutral with insturment panel "N" illuminated. Sometimes you have to go back and forth between 1st, "N", and 2nd, "N", to get the "N" to illuminate so that you can start the bike. Nothing major unless you are in a rush and that extra few minutes can really cause an irritation. When I turn the bike off I leave in Neutral with the "N" illuminated so that is not an issue when I go to start it.</p><p><br></p><p>2. Tank slap / handle bar wobble at speeds between 8-12mph. I just accelerate through that speed zone and not a big deal, but if you hang out at 10mph you will feel it getting worse and eventually scary bad. Ohlin Steering dampner might be the solution if it bothers you.</p><p><br></p><p>3. Lurching / misfire at speeds around 50mph. I have spare air filter, fuel line, and both left and right carburators- you can fix that issue. I had a heart attack and am selling the bike, I am not going to fix it.</p><p><br></p><p>all loaded up in trailer if you want to show up on just haul it away.</p>

<p>We restored this 1988 BMW R100GS just last year for an older client, the bike is a little tall for him and the time has come to pass it along. I'm 6'00 and find the bike to have a comfortable riding position, however yes, on the taller side.The bike was sourced locally out of Ojai, California with just under 40,000 miles prior to the work.The engine has gone through a crank out rebuild. The engine was stripped to the case and glass beaded before being rebuilt with new bearings throughout, new euro spec high compression pistons, new nikasil cylinders and refurbished cylinder heads. The gearbox went through a similar process, stripped and glass beaded before being rebuilt with new bearings and any worn gears replaced with new. Original Bing carbs were vapor blasted and rebuilt in the process.The bodywork has been refinished in Avus Black paint and completed with new decals, the frame wears original paint. The bike came equipped with a rare factory optioned tachometer, of which was rebuilt along with the speedo during the restoration work. Headers are stainless, complete with a cross over pipe as per the factory exhaust, mated to the original collector and chrome muffler. Wheels were stripped and vapor blasted before being rebuilt with new bearings, stainless spokes and black anodized Sun rims, 21" front and 17" rear. The rebuilt wheels are clad in Michelin Awake Wild tires.New handlebars, new hand controls and switches. New grips and mirrors. The original seat was reupholstered with a new factory cover. Aftermarket aluminum panniers from Unit garage, complete with keys. The cases are easily removable for convenience. Ohlins adjustable suspension on the rear. An auxiliary light from PIAA was installed, the factory crash bar was modified in the process to seamlessly mount the light. Along with this modification came an aftermarket side stand from SureFoot for ease of use, the factory side stand was notoriously awkward. The sidestand was modified to correct the lean angle Pictures speak a thousand words. It's a handsome motorcycle that runs like a new machine. 40 year old air cooled BMWs aren't expected to be fast, this one will pleasantly surprise you with its spritely performance. <p>UPDATED 7/28/2024 Battery replaced today and started again!</p><p>YouTube video search 1980 BMW R100RT. Scroll to Kaplan America. Video is 6 yrs old mileage is the same. I bought my dream bike while in the hospital recovering from a car wreck not knowing I would never be able to ride again. I started in once to make sure it ran as advertised. Started again 7/28/2024. It leaked a small amount of oil. I ordered rings, gaskets, and grommets. Everything needed to reseal the cylinders and oil pan. My arm limitations will not allow me to do the work or ride. The package deal includes a Black Widow Lift ($1000), service and parts manuals, some BMW special tools. A complete listing of included parts will be in the photos. This bike has been garage kept since the video. I received a normal New Jersey title with the bike. I am the third owner. I submitted the title to Texas and received a salvage title back. The fairing was removed by a previous owner. I am guessing they broke the fairing and filed an insurance claim hence the salvage tile. I wanted the triple disk brakes, cast wheels, and oil cooler that this bike has. This 1977 example has been re-engineered with 21st-century technology by Roughchild Motorcycles in Los Angeles, California. The bike was fully disassembled, rebuilt to exacting standards, and upgraded from the frame up for enhanced safety and performance.
