The Kawasaki Concours 14 is a sport touring motorcycle that started production in September 2007. In some markets, it is also known as the Kawasaki 1400GTR or ZG1400. This model replaces the Concours 1000 which was made from 1986 to 2006.
The latest Kawasaki Concours 14 has a powerful 1,352cc inline four-cylinder engine. This combines the heart of the Ninja ZX sport bike with extra performance, technology, and features to create an ultimate sport touring model. The engine features variable valve timing (VVT) for better low and mid-range power capability while it also maintains the performance of high rpm. The vehicle also has an electrically adjustable windshield. This added feature along with a three-position vent gives the rider added comfort. There are also standard hard saddlebags. These may be installed, removed, and locked quickly with the ignition key and integrated mounting system.
The monocoque frame gives agile handling with more rider feedback. This helps the tour bike not to be too big and heavy because of its large frame. The body panels and engine set up bolster the rigidity of the frame and make it lightweight yet strong. The design also has a narrow waist. This helps shorter riders who may have otherwise had a difficult time getting onto the 32.1-inch seat height.
