The KTM 1290 Super Duke R is a 1301 CC V-twin engine motorcycle from the Austrian manufacturer KTM. As of the 2017 model update, the motor is the most powerful LC8 engine KTM has ever built. The KCM 1290 features a naked body. The 2014 through 2016 models hat suspension it was considered to be too soft but the 2017 update addressed this by offering stiffer springs.
The 2016 KTM 1290 had a compression ratio of 13.2 to 1. the 2017 model has an increased compression ratio of 13.6 to 1. The 2017 model features cruise control as standard and has upgraded Electronics including ride-by-wire, lean angle sensitive traction control and an optional track mode along with cornering ABS quick shifter and riding modes.
The KTM 1290 first began production in 2014 and currently remains on the market. The 2014 model had an acceleration of 0 to 60 in 2.6 seconds and 0 to 200 kilometers per hour in 7.2 seconds. It produced a maximum of 150.7 horsepower at rear wheel width 92.4 pounds per foot of torque.
 The 2017 KTM 1290 boasts and improved engine and throttle response that have become smoother and produce 177 horsepower.
