While a 550 hardly sounds like something that we'd consider even putting the name 'Super Sport' on today, in '77 smaller bikes were the rage and the term described more of an appearance than it really did actual performance or top speed. The Japanese inline 4's ruled the roost on performance and reliability, and this model is no exception. The 4 into 1 exhaust and concealed fuel cap are the main things that distinguish this trim from the less desirable CB550K that was available at the same time. There were several other bikes that were faster, but this is a consistent, handsomely packaged middleweight that will get you where you’re going in style and comfort for bikes of it's time and there’s enough muscle to provide a pleasant rush when you twist the grip.
