Agusta Brutale series of motorcycles is manufactured by MV Agusta of Italy. Production began in 2001 and continues today. It is a naked bike. The series consists of multiple models that are powered either by inline 4, an inline 3, or a DOHC engine.
The MV Agusta Brutale was designed by Italian designer Massimo Tamburini. The engine was based on that which was used in the F4 series developed by Andre Goggi. The engine is a liquid-cooled inline four-cylinder four-stroke set across the frame featuring to overhead camshaft with electronic multi-point fuel injection and induction discharge electronic ignition.
In 2005, a 910-cc engine with added to the range. As of 2010, the MV Agusta Brutale was redesigned under Harley Davidson ownership. That year they offered two models, the 990R and the 1090R. Both the engine and chassis were redesigned with 85% of the components on the machine having been completely redesigned.
In 2011 they added a 921-cc entry-level model to the range. In 2012, they introduced a three-cylinder version initially only offered with a 675cc engine. However, they added an 800cc model for the following year. The four-cylinder models were phased out after the introduction of the triples. However, the four-cylinder engine was reintroduced in the 2019 Brutale 1000 Serie Ore, which MV Agusta claims is the fastest naked bike in the world.
