Harley-Davidson marked its 100th anniversary as a motorcycle maker in 2003 and celebrated by giving all bikes built special 100th Anniversary badging. The manufacturer also offered other special models, options, and accessories. You didnt have to step up to one of the limited editions to get one of Harleys best-ever customs right from the showroom floor, the Softail Deuce. Softail referred to frame design that hid a single spring/shock unit ahead of the swingarm. This eliminated the dual rear spring/shock units seen on other Harleys, giving the bike the hardtail look of older Harleys that had no rear suspension, but that provided comfort of having suspension. The Deuce took the factory-chopper look further with a skinny 21-inch wire-spoke front wheel, custom-looking 17-inch aluminum rear disc wheel with super-fat tire, curved, swept-back 5-inch risers to lift the low-rise handlebar, custom-looking gas tank with no visible seams and chrome everywhere you looked, including the fork sliders, oil tank, and external oil lines. </p><p>Will consider trade for pick up truck.</p>
