The Yamaha FZ6 hit the market in 2004. This general-purpose motorcycle featured a 600cc engine from the YZF-R6 model. The bike was perfect for commuting, touring, or sport riding. The last model year was 2009 (2010 overseas) and the bike was revised a few times.
In 2006, the Yamaha FZ6 came with an optimized fuel injection system. It provided a higher torque at lower engine speeds. The catalytic converter was upgraded for a honeycomb style. This was to meet EU2 and CARB emissions standards. There was a slight revision to the engine. All other revisions were cosmetic and included painting the wheels black.
2007 revisions brought the Yamaha FZ6 a new instrument cluster. It featured an analog tachometer and digital speedometer. They also added a four-piston mono block brake calipers for the front brake. There was also a new seat design that year.
2008, found only one minor change to the Yamaha FZ6. Paint around the headlight was black, no matter what color the bike was. Yamaha didn't see any revisions necessary for the functional parts of the bike.
