With fork springs in both legs, the left tube handles preload adjustment and the right tube controls damping. The larger-diameter damping piston has significantly greater surface area than that of a conventional cartridge fork, thus making it possible to reduce damping pressure and allow smoother fork action.</p><ul><li>Braking</li></ul><p>The brake system on the Z1000 contributes to the more-than-satisfying grip to the pavement. The Tokico monobloc front calipers, 310mm petal discs and a radial-pump master cylinder provide firm initial feel followed by progressive yet controlled brake performance. A single-piston caliper and 250mm petal disc in the rear provide a nice complement to the front system. This is the first year H2R with less than 200 being made. The engine puts out a claimed 326hp and the bike fully fueled weights only 476lbs. The Ninja H2R was, and still is the fastest production bike on the planet with a claimed top speed of 240 mph. Kawasaki Heavy Industries came together with their best engineers (aeronautics, gas turbine, and motorcycle) to design and build this machine. This was the first motorcycle to bear the Kawasaki River mark. Each one was also hand built. The color of the motorcycle was archived by a dark base coat overlayed with pure silver and clear coated. It is absolutely stunning in person. No other production motorcycle has come close to the power this machine puts out.
