<p>Used 1968 BMW R 60 Earles Fork for sale.</p><p>I’ve owned this bike for 10 years. Brought it back to life with genuine parts from BMW, Blue Moon Cycles and Bench Mark Works. Had a local BMW fanatic (formerly Freeman Cycles in Beverly, MA) go through it and tune it to perfection. Original patina, runs great and handles like an old Beemer should.</p><p>Extras and parts included in sale. Stopped riding and it kills me to see Greta sit in the barn.</p><p>You’ll love this bike, I do!</p>

1969 BMW R60US, <p>Very clean R60US</p><p><br></p><p>- slinger service complete at 2764 miles </p><p><br></p><p>For two years only, BMW introduce the US model R50US, R60US, R69US based on the three boxer engine configurations of the time. The telescopic U.S. forks were built for the US market and later introduced on the /5s.</p><p>When this R60US came to us in 2015, the slingers were cleaned to prep the bike for its next owner.</p><ul><li><p>Slingers replaced</p></li><li><p>New bearings installed on crank, run-out checked</p></li><li><p>Rebuilt carbs</p></li><li><p>new stator and rotor</p></li><li><p>new exhaust</p></li></ul><p>After a few years of ownership, the R60US found its way back to us and once again is available for sale</p><p><br></p><p><br></p>

1969 BMW R60US, <p>This is an excellent barn find that will clean up nicely. This R60US sat for some time and collected dust but was properly stored dry. The fuel tank is exceptionally clean inside with the tank liner still remaining. These liners often break down and tanks will begin to rust over time from moisture when sitting, but this was stored in a dry area. The R60US were unique in that they were only available in the US market. That coupled with the Granada Red paint finish makes for a very unique bike and the first one available ever for sale from MAX BMW.</p><p>The paint on this bike cleans up very nicely and shines bright in the sun. There are some scrapes/imperfections present as to be expected of a bike from this vintage. The chrome engine bars are in great shape as well. 1960 BMW R60, <p>This is an excellent running 1960 R60. We have a fair amount of service history on this bike including a slinger service performed in 2017. </p><p><br></p><p>VIN: 620130</p><p><br></p><p>Current Odometer: 65984</p><p><br></p><p>This 1960 R60 first came to us in 2016 when it was traded in. At that time we evaluated the bike and found it was due for a major overhaul. Having no history on the slinger service ever being done, we opted to pull the engine, disassemble, and perform the slinger/crank service.</p><p>The work started in 2016 and ended in 2017 with a reported mileage of 65,474.</p><p><br></p><p>The bike was disassembled and engine broken down to reseal. At this time, the slingers were replaced with new BMW parts and the crank was replaced with a refurbished one on exchange. New bearings were used throughout and the engine went back together with new gaskets, new intake and exhaust valves, oil drain and fill plugs, and many of small items.</p><p><br></p><p>The transmission was also disassembled and fully resealed with new input and output shaft seals, gaskets, as well as a new clutch.</p><p><br></p><p>Final drive was disassembled and resealed as well with all new gaskets and seals and fresh oil. Crown gear shims were also adjusted. Later in 2022, the final drive was rebuilt with a different gear ratio for better use in hilly backroad terrain. We used a 3.8 gear ratio for this type of riding. New gaskets and oil were also used at this time.</p><p><br></p><p>The carburetors were disassembled and completely rebuilt with all new gaskets, seals, jets, springs, floats, needle sleeves, and so on. New fuel lines were added along with new fuel filters. New high throttle cables were also used at this time along with newer petcock.</p><p><br></p><p>Next, we performed an Airhead Annual service which included all new fluids, new spark plugs, new points and condenser, and new air filter. The bike also received new rear brake shoes at this time. Finally upon final test ride, technician noted the steering head bearings felt notchy, and these were also replaced with new BMW parts. We also installed a new front tire at this time with new tube.</p><p><br></p><p>In 2022, the bike came in for service and we adjusted the valves, rebuilt the final drive (upgraded), adjusted the carbs, checked charging system and made adjustments.</p><p><br></p><p>This is a wonderfully set up R60 built to ride and has a lot of life left in it!</p>
