Associated Motor Cycles returned to the 250cc class in 1958 with a brace of all-new models. Shared by the Matchless G2 and AJS Model 14, the four-stroke, overhead-valve power unit incorporated its oil tank within the crankcase and appeared to be of unit construction, although a separate gearbox was retained. The cycle parts comprised an open, tubular steel frame, closed at the bottom by a pressed-steel channel, complemented by a telescopic front fork and swinging-arm rear suspension. Production G2/14 production ended until July 1963 while the CSR sports versions lasted until 1966. One of the last of AMC’s 250cc lightweights
