Honda has taken one of our best adventure bikes—the CB500X—and given it a major update along with a new name: the NX500. It’s seven pounds lighter, and along with a new ECU, that means you get better acceleration feel. Lighter wheels and new suspension settings make it feel more responsive. A brand-new LED headlight improves visibility at night. Honda Selectable Torque Control is new and standard equipment. A new Thin-Film Transistor (TFT) instrument display is easier to read, and a new fairing is part of an aggressive new styling package.  The Honda NX500 is loaded with features that are not found on some of the more expensive adventure bikes!  Offering plenty of power and torque in the midrange, the NX500 features a 471cc, liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine. Light, narrow, and powerful, it just strikes the perfect balance of what a mid-sized motorcycle engine should be.  Honda engineers profiled the shift dogs in the 6 speed transmission, to help you get smoother shifts every time.  The slipper/assist clutch lets us lighten up the clutch-lever effort by 45 percent compared to previous systems, but automatically locks up tight when you release it.   A sophisticated chassis with Honda Pro-Link® rear suspension features a shock with nine-stage adjustable spring preload to increase riding comfort and handling. The shock absorber features large-diameter internals for even better damping characteristics and a smoother ride.  ABS comes standard on the NX500, helping you make smoother, more controlled stops under less-than-ideal riding condition.  An easy-to-read TFT screen features a digital speedometer, tachometer and more, including a clock, odometer, trip meter, real-time and average fuel consumption meters and illuminated engine diagnostic indicators.  With a clean, rough-and-ready look, the NX500’s LED headlight and multi-facet reflector project plenty of light on the road for visibility.  Strong and stylish, the NX500’s lightweight multi-spoke cast-aluminum wheels are easy to keep clean, look great, enhance handling and are another NX500 feature that just makes sense.  The NX500 just looks right—tough, capable, no-nonsense.
